Bonner Fellowship Program 2013

ABOUT

Bonner Fellows are talented undergraduate students who will spend the summer working with some of the Bonner Network's premiere partner organizations in high-level internship positions, while also connecting with each other, their organization's mentors, and Bonner alumni across their host city. Along with New York City and Washington, D.C., the program is expanding to Philadelphia this summer. Three bonner schools will be replicaating the fellowship model: Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee; Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee; and Siena College in Albany, New York.

Placements are with non-profit organizations, minimum 35 hours per week, for a minimum of 8 weeks or a total of no less than 270 hours. Of this time, 20% can include training and enrichment (which will be provided to fellows in each city). Fellows will engage in substantive work and projects that address site priorities in one of the three areas (Community Organizing, Policy Research & Advocacy and Program Development & Management). In tandem with site priorities, Bonner Fellows will work to deepen the organization’s relationship with the Bonner Network. Bonner Alumni are also involved in the program, mentoring students and facilitating networking events across the city.
