Bonner Summer Fellowship Program 2013- Application

Page history last edited by Nefisah Sallim 11 years, 1 month ago

Take a look at the program homepage to learn about the structure, requirements, and desired qualifications for applicants.

Check out all of our participating sites and the exciting placements they have to offer. This summer the fellowship will have over 50 positions to offer for the Fellowship so make sure to read all of them carefully. Decide which ones you'd like to apply for (maximum of three) before proceeding with the next step of the process.

Complete the Common Fellowship Form that will ask some general information about you (name, school, year, hometown, etc). On this form you will also identify which three positions you are applying for. All applicants will be permitted to apply for three positions, there are no restrictions on where you can apply geographically or program.

This link will take you to the Common Fellowship Form

Once you have completed the Common Fellowship Form, you then must submit a 4 page application document along with a Nomination Letter from a Bonner staff member.  Applicants can submit their COMPLETED application document to josh@bonner.org. Recommendations can also be sent to josh@bonner.org.

Please Note: No application should be submitted until it is fully complete with the items below, NOW EXTENDED TILL Friday, March 22nd @ 5pm EST

Application documents should consist of one .pdf file, four pages in length (single spaced): the first page should be your cover letter, the second page your resume, the third page a writing sample, and the fourth page your position qualifications. Please give your document the filename: Last Name_First name_Middle initial.doc

Cover Letter: Make sure to highlight your interest in the Bonner Fellowship Program, why you are ready for a capstone-level summer internship, and relevant experiences (personal and professional) that best qualify you to be Bonner Summer Fellow.

Resume: Please be certain to include your email address and phone number.

Writing Sample: The sample should demonstrate your ability to make an argument or explain a concept, issustrate your research skills, exemplify your written communication and/or program design skills. Some examples include an excerpt from a research paper, reflection piece, program-related publication, or policy brief.

Position Qualifications: For each of the positions you are applying, write one paragraph stating why you would be a great candidate for the position.

Applicants can submit their COMPLETED application document to josh@bonner.org. Recommendations can also be sent to josh@bonner.org.

Instructions for submitting Nomination Letter

This letter must come from your Bonner Director or Coordinator, who will receive a Nomination Letter Form from the Bonner Foundation by e-mail. Once Common Fellowship forms have been filled, a nomination form will be sent to the Bonner Director/ Coordinator. They must use that document to complete this step.
