Organization Description: The UMRC rehabilitates housing for very low income homeowners in the Berkeley, Charleston, Georgetown and Dorchester Counties of SC. By using donated funds, along with federal and private grants and volunteer labor from all age groups, the UMRC completes over 50 projects per year.

Internship Description: The UMRC would be interested in a highly motivated individual that would act as an on-site supervisor directing volunteers in housing renovation. Construction background and/or experience as well as someone who deals well with people is desired. Most work is completed Monday-Thursday. Our highest concentration of work is April-September.

Service Opportunity Description: Teams do home repairs on substandard housing, Monday-Thursday, while staying in our Volunteer House or another church facility. Teams generally work 8am-4pm under the supervision of a construction site manager from the UMRC.
