Organization Description: The mission of Kieve is to empower young people and the adults who affect them to contribute positively to society by providing a wide range of experiential educational opportunities at Kieve, in the wilderness, in schools, and in communities that will help them to: increase their self-confidence, raise their aspirations, and develop their ability to work better within a group.  The award winning Leadership Decisions Institute educates young adolescents to make healthy decisions about risky behaviors, relationships and peer pressure utilizing an experiential learning model in an environment that is both challenging and nurturing.

Internship Position


Internship Description: Within the Leadership Decision Insitute (in the Fall and Spring) Primary Resident Overseers (PROs) facilitate our ropes course, supervise a cabin and orchestrate afternoon and evening activities.  We also host and Intern Program for individuals seriously considering a career in education, especially experiential education, who will teach and assist in the classroom while their professional growth is monitored.  Each residential season, a team of 12-16 PROs and Interns works together to help students apply what they have learned in our classes.  

 

Durations of opportunities vary according to each program and range from summer to year-long commitments.  Each position offers a stipend and benefits.  Please visit our website (www.kieve.org) for more extensive information on our unique programs as well as position descriptions, durations, requirements, compensation, and benefits.  We believe Bonners will be a valuable addition to our camp and an asset to our campers and staff.  Join us for a summer or extended stay in the beautiful Maine wilderness!
