The mission of the Center for Community Engagement is to support teaching, learning and scholarship that engages faculty, students and staff with their larger communities (local, state, regional, national, global) for the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity. These quality service experiences will assist each student in demonstrating local and/or world citizenship as well as engaging in experiential learning throughout their time at Wesleyan.

MORE ABOUT US (our partners, trips, structure, best or unique practices)
At West Virginia Wesleyan College, our students learn both inside and outside of the classroom. The value of a private, liberal-arts education is enhanced when you include the partnership between the college and the community, whether it is local, regional, national, or global.
Through engagement in community service, civic participation and leadership opportunities, students are receiving two educations in one by becoming responsible citizens. Community service is part of our culture at Wesleyan. Each year, more faculty are adding service-learning components to their classes; more staff are assisting students in service and leadership opportunities; and more students are engaging in meaningful service opportunities.
