Bonners and the "New Age" of the Internet

Wiki | Blog | Facebook | del.icio.us| Forum | YouTube

Your one stop source to Bonner and Web 2.0. This summer (2008) we are beginning an emphasis on developing networking tools using social media. Connect with your Bonner friends. Keep up with news. Plan events. Find resources and information. Meet other Bonners. Network with local and national organizations. You can do all that an more through Serve 2.0. Here is what the Bonner Foundation is already doing.

Wiki

Comprehensive undergraduate degree cliffs-notes becomes platform for Bonner information and networking.

Bonner Network Wiki:

You are currently reading the Bonner Handbook Live Wiki, a Wiki designed specifically with Bonner Students in mind. Let us know what you think or what you would like to see by posting comments, calling or emailing the Foundation, or creating your own page on the Wiki.

We have other Wikis up and running as well. Check out the general Bonner Network WikiBonner Congress Wiki, and Bonner Interns Wiki. Also check out the collaborative policy driven effort, policyoptionswiki.org.

For more information, read the Social Media Tools — Wikis guide.

Blog

The craze of the last few years has become a central source for up-to-date Bonner Foundation news.

Bonner Network Blog:

Check out this blog! The blog is one of the many social media tools we'll be using to exand the Bonner Network.

This blog is only one of the many cool social media tools we’ll be using to expand the Bonner Network.

Facebook

If you already use facebook, why don't you join our national Bonner network Facebook groups. If you are not on Facebook, one more reason to give in and sign up today.

Bonner Facebook Groups:

We currently have several Bonner Facebook Groups going. Our general group, "National Bonner Love", now has over 1,100 members! Lets all get together on Facebook, share information, load pictures, meet other people, make friends, and more.

Bonner Congress Representatives will not want to miss out on our Bonner Congress Facebook group. Discuss what is going on in Congress and what to look forward to. Continue the Bonner Congress and SLI conversations on the Wall or in the Discussion Boards.

del.icio.us

Delicious? Mmmm...I don't know what it is, but it sounds good.

del.icio.us Social Bookmarking:

View the Bonner Network's Social Bookmarks on del.icio.us. Go to http://del.icio.us/bonnernetwork and take a look at the pages the Foundation has tagged on social justice, diversity, civic engagement and more. Also find Bonner Scholars and Leaders websites for easy access to information about other schools' programs.

Or you can register your own del.icio.us account and add "bonnernetwork" to your network and easily access and view the Foundation's bookmarks through your own account.

Forum

Similar to Facebook, stay connected within the Bonner Network.

Bonner Network Forum:

View the Bonner Network's profile on Ning. Go to http://bonnerforum.ning.com/ and take a look at the Bonner Program's profile and all the people that they are connected to/with.

Through a website called Ning, you can design your own personal social networking site like Facebook. You can use the Ning to reflect with your Bonners about their service site.

YouTube

Create videos and share them to raise awareness around social justice issues.

Bonner YouTube Page:

Check out the Bonner Network YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/BonnerNetwork. You will find many training videos for various things such as BWBRS. Also, find winners of last year's Bonner Video Project as well as updates for the upcoming video project.

Register for your very own YouTube account either for yourself or for your program. It is a convenient place to keep all the videos you wish to share during orientation and training!

What are schools in the network doing with these social media tools?
