Connecting Across America
Overview | Bonner Partners | Find Partners
The Bonner Program offers excellent opportunities to connect to organizations across the country dedicated to aspects of the Common Commitments including Civic Engagement and Social Justice.
Overview:
An brief explanation of the design and purpose of the Bonner Partner National Network.
The Bonner Partners Program seeks to forge relationships between you and national and international service organizations. If we think of the Bonner Program as a student movement and strategy for investing the resources of colleges and universities in work that creates significant change in both our communities and our country, cooperation with the nation's most significant non-profit networks and organizations is paramount. Connections with these different partners can benefit both you and the national community in many different ways. Think about:
- Finding ongoing service work: partnerships can provide you with well developed opportunities to serve.
- Summer Internships: Use these organizations as a resource for summer internships. Gain important experience learning about and leading civic programs and events. At the same time, meet your Bonner Program summer service requirements.
- Alternative Breaks: Assist these Partners with larger short-term projects. Some alternative break experience is required of all first year Bonner students so don't hesitate to contact these organizations and explore opportunities with them.
- Post-graduate opportunities: Don't think that your connection with these groups must end upon graduation. Ask them about long-term internships, jobs, or service opportunities even after you leave college.
- Training and Retreats: Use the Partners' as resources for training. Even consider them as potential retreat sites and attend job fairs or cluster events. Invite them to your campus to discuss opportunities with your Bonner Program or Campus at large.
- Distribution of Materials: Tell your community about these Partners. The further their influence stretches the greater impact they can have on your community and our nation.
Bonner Partners:
The following Bonner Partners took part in this summers "Summit on Civic Engagement" at Allegheny. If you did not meet them at the Summit they continue to be available and are eager to connect with YOU. So...find out who they are and how you might benefit from a partnership.
