During this time of the year, the program, Farmers Against Hunger does not operate on its usual schedule. This is due to the fact that we work totally in conjunction with farms throghout the state, which have been all shut down for winter and are preparing for next season's harvest. Although FAH still collaborates with several companies which provide food to sustain through the winter season, we do not enage in any actvities which would require volunteers, besides the usual volunteers who show up every week at our local distrubution sites. At the moment, program director Judy Grigon is working on possible fundraising events, securing grants for next season, and collaborting with potential new farm and food donors. Americorps Bonner volunteer, Brian Strumfels has been designing a new web-site for the program, which will include a photo-gallery, links to all farms, and a newsletter and a potential blog. He also has put together a short, promotional video which will be aired at a conference on April 9th. This will further spread the word about this very useful and beneficial program. We look forward to a very busy, upcoming season.
