Bonner International Partnerships with Peacework

Peacework is a non-profit organization that coordinates global partnerships for integrated development by connecting the resources of colleges and universities with the needs of developing communities in over 20 countries around the world. Through this model, Peacework has worked for 22 years in promoting sustainable development through intentional partnerships that alleviate poverty and promote prosperity.

The Peacework Village Network model inspired the collaborative creation of the Bonner Global Village Network, through which Peacework is a primary partner. As a result, Peacework has worked with a variety of campuses in the Bonner Network in developing international projects and partnerships that uphold Bonner community partnership values of strategy, sustainability, and reciprocity.

How does it work?

Peacework maintains international community partnerships much like campuses in the Bonner Network manage domestic community partnerships with local non-profit organizations.

Peacework collaborates with community partners in international settings (such as principals of local schools, a local nonprofit housing agency, or a government ministry such as education or agriculture) to identify locally-determined development goals and match them with the resources of universities to produce long-term, strategic, and sustainable partnerships for development and education. Through this partnership, colleges and universities bring academic insight, technical resources, and volunteer service to complement and support local community leadership through collaboration across seven key development disciplines:
