Student scholarship opportunity for RESULTS International Conference

RESULTSers and Student Activists!

With the International Conference registration launched, it’s that time of year again to start YOUR planning for how to get to DC this June!

Attached is the Campus for Change Application for 2011 for the passionate university students you know that strive to create political will to end poverty.  Campus for Change is a scholarship opportunity for students interested in attending RESULTS International Conference to End Poverty (June 18-22).  The program includes student specific advocacy trainings both before and after the conference for 20 – 25 select students.  This 70 percent scholarship covers the bulk of the cost of travel, lodging, and conference registration and provides students opportunities to build their skills and prepare them for building advocacy on their campuses

Highlights of the 2011 conference include:

  • Presentations from some of the world’s foremost experts on international and U.S. poverty.
  • Small-group sessions with congressional staff to learn how to increase your impact in meetings with members of Congress.
  • Lobby Day meetings with your senators, representatives, and/or their staff on Capitol Hill.
  • Supplementary skills sessions: become a more powerful advocate, use social media for outreach, coach others to be effective, and much more.
  • Reception on Capitol Hill with members of Congress.

RESULTS is looking for applicants that meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants demonstrating the greatest desire to gain advocacy skills
  • Applicants demonstrating the greatest dedication to making a difference via their Commitment to Action
  • Interest in bringing RESULTS to a campus or community

This is really a unique opportunity for students who are interested in global poverty and development and want to jump start their advocacy work. We would love for you to share this info with your networks and encourage the students you know to apply!  If you have any questions, please let me know!
