What is HomeFront?

HomeFront is the largest provider of permanent, low-income, affordable housing in Mercer County. HomeFront is one of many transitional housing units that provide a safe haven for mothers and their children. More information can be found at homefrontnj.org.

Where is the HomeFront Preservation Center?

The HomeFront Family Preservation Center is located at 320 Sullivan Way Ewing, NJ 08628 on the campus of the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf.

What does the Family Preservation Center offer?

The families are provided with their own room and three meals per day. Mothers get counseling, take parenting classes, and receive other kinds of educational enrichment. The young children attend the shelter’s childcare while the older children attend nearby schools. The mothers attend the shelter’s program until they are able to have a place of their own.

What about the volunteers?

On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, we care for the young children of the Family Preservation Center by giving them that extra TLC that is essential to a child’s development.

On Wednesday, we tutor school-age children at the Educational Testing Services building in Princeton, New Jersey. These children do not live at the Family preservation Center, but are still affiliated with HomeFront.
