Below are profiles of student leadership structures and roles within the Bonner Program.

 

DePauw University


 

Meet as an all Bonner group every week

Break up into classes or into Bonner love teams

 

Executive team process

In the spring they hold 2 of their weekly meetings devoting them to nominations for the executive committee

2 weeks the students present there platforms and they vote  

Staff chooses senior intern and congress reps. there is a paper app process.  

 

Bonner Executive Committee

(Meet every other week)

 

Consist of:

  • BLT chair
  • Community fund chair
  • BWBRS Intern (Bonner love chair)

 

Public Relations chair

  • Works on newsletter, 
  • Awareness on campus

 

Class Chair

  • Helps coordinate class meetings
  • Works with student development with each class

 

Senior Intern

 

**Congress reps is a dual role

 

Issue-focus teams whose leadership meet once a month.  The student leaders rotate annually.

  • Economic and environmental sustainability
  • Youth development
  • Homelessness, hunger and poverty reduction
  • Criminal justice and violence prevention

Oberlin College


 

 

Second semester of sophomore year they have all Bonners vote on congress reps. 

 

Application process:

      -    Paper application

Personal statement.  

Ideally the will read their personal statement at each meeting but if they cant make it then staff will read it.  

 

There nominated and voted in as congress reps

-2 year commitment:

Congress reps 1st year 

Senior Interns 2nd year

 

Bonner Leadership Team

6 students:  3 reps and 3 senior interns

 

Congress Reps:

Overall Duties:  

Work on Bigger projects (ie. Big Idea Proposal)

Liason foundation activities to Bonner student body

 

Rep 1 – Community Funds Committee  (10 students)

Duties:  Reading proposals and granting funds out to students

 

Rep 2 – Reflection Committee (6-7 students)

Duties:  Responsible for creating, coordinating and facilitating reflection activities.

(Minimum of 3 a semester)

 

Rep 3 – Activities Committee ((8 students)

Duties: responsible for Bonner retreat, and any other community building fun activities

(Minimum of 3 a semester)

 

Senior Intern 1 – Administrative

Duties: BWBRS, Bonner Weekly, Filing

 

Senior Intern 2 – First Year

Duties:  planning first year trip, first year orientation and work with Bonner 101 Class

 

Senior Intern 3 - Campus and Community Collaborations

Duties: work on open house activities with admission, check-in with Bonners on service sites; work with first years in finding service site, trouble shoot with community partners.

 

 

Stetson University


 

 

Bonners meet every week

They rotate weekly their All Bonner, class, and Bonner love meetings

 

Bonner Leader Team process

- Application process during the end of spring semester (Open to all students to apply.) (Usually upperclassmen)

 

Bonner Lead Team

Chaired by 2 senior interns

Senior interns come up with personal projects and goals and work on those.

Meet every single Friday to reflect on the next week 

In charge of meeting discussion and itinerary  

 

Consist of:

8 family leaders

Families are comprised of the rest of the Bonner students.

(Families meet once a month)

 

Duties as a whole:  

In charge of training and enrichment

Help develop cornerstone activities, and programming.

 

Duties in family: 

      -      Plan events and activities

 

“families” meet once a month

“classes” meet biweekly

(The plan the class meeting around training and cornerstone activities.)

 

****This year the lead team members are partnering up and taking a class (freshman, sophomore, juniors, and seniors.)
