In this case, you’re going to think about the issue area of service that you’re working on, and how your campus team can make an impact through its work in the community.
Second Set of ActivitiesAdvocacy 201Advocacy 201 Based on the Advocacy 101 workshop, this training allows highest level students to participate in creating an advocacy plan they would use when addressing a member of government to articulate and speak on an issue and solutions they feel strongly about. Third Set of ActivitiesBuilding CoalitionsThis activity will have participants learn how to create a coalition of all types of people on campus or in the community to solve a problem or issue. The goal of this exercise is to allow students to understand how although sometimes different, groups and organizations work best together in problem solving. Further, not only is it good to build coalitions on campus but throughout the community as well.

Through this, they will build a “list” of these resources and eventually create a network thus helping to alleviate the problem or issue in a more structures way.
Activity 1 Presentation of Power Mapping (Suggested time: 40-60 minutes) This section of the workshop will focus on participants being informed of what power mapping is and how to make it useful in their roles in their community.
