Who Makes a Difference? How Family, Friends, & Community Influence Our Lives
Many times students site families and communities as central to the formation of their values and their notion of community involvement. These books contribute to the continuing conversation of civic engagement by reflecting the importance of recognizing your origins and past.
Understanding Inequality and the '-isms'
Exploring the call to action against injustice - including racism, sexism, classism and other forms of inequality. Engage with these books to develop a clearer picture of both the causes and consequences of injustice.
Poverty and Homelessness: Taking action to Make a Change
By working directly with people in economically deprived situations, Bonner students will often find that their stereotypes about the poor and the nature of poverty as well as the nature and impact of poverty across the nation and world are shattered. This has the possibility of resulting in a renewed passion for social justice.
