Organization Description: Heifer International provides livestock and training to small-scale farmers worldwide. Along with the gifts of livestock, we help communities develop sustainable agriculture while improving the environment and strengthening community. Heifer International's three Learning Centers -- in California, Arkansas, and Massachusetts--are hands-on campuses that teach the public about world hunger. Through education that emphasizes experience, the centersí outdoor "living classrooms" acquaint visitors with Heifer's mission and the needs of those whom the organization serves. Guests learn about the root causes of hunger and poverty and the way animals and people can make a difference.
