Internship Position
Internship Description: CAP operates about 30 programs throughout eastern Kentucky, including Adult Education, Child and Family Development Program, Elderly Services, Housing and Home Repair, Family Advocacy, Disability Services, Substance Abuse Recovery, Summer Camp, Education/ Recreational Programming, and more.
Potential internships are available in a number of these programs, depending on the students' availability and school location, and the needs of each program.
Internship Start/End Dates: Flexible.
Application Process: Prospective volunteers fill out a volunteer application, which can be requested by phone (1-800-755-5322), via email (volunteer@chrisapp.org) or by visiting our website and clicking on the link for application request. Applications should be sent to our office in Mt. Vernon, and will be processed by our admissions coordinator in the order received. The admissions coordinator will contact the prospective volunteer and arrange an interview (for long-term volunteer service) or discuss service placement and arrival date (for short-term service).
A background check and references are required components of the application.
Application Deadline: Rolling admissions.
Stipend Provided? Yes - $150 per month for long-term volunteers.
Housing Provided? Yes - All food provided. Volunteers take turns preparing the evening meal in the volunteer houses. Bunkhouse-type housing is provided at camp for Summer Camp volunteers. Individual bedroom is provided at volunteer houses.
