Introduction
Each summer, the Bonner Foundation engages student leaders in intensive summer internships or (starting in 2012) fellowships (where interns also meet as a cohort with other Bonners and are mentored by an alum). Over the past several years, outstanding students have spent the summer working in a national role on a variety of critical projects. Summer interns and fellows have used their talent to get new programs and initiatives––like the Bonner Fellowship, PolicyOptions, the Bonner Network Wiki, the Student Handbook Live, and more off the ground. They have built and led trainings and resources for Bonner Congress and Senior Interns. They have learned how to plan and executed major national conferences and events like Summer Leadership Institutes, Bonner Congress, the High-Impact Initiative, and the New Directors Meeting.
Take a look at the Hall of Fame below. Many of the former Bonner Interns and Fellows have gone on to be hired by their campuses, the foundation, partner organizations, and other employers after they graduate. Many have gone on to graduate programs or year-of-service programs (including at American University, Cornell, Yale, and abroad), Teach for America, the JET Program (teaching in Japan), etc. You can probably find many of these individuals on LinkedIn or Facebook.
