Bonner Video Project - Training and EnrichmentTraining and Enrichment Video
How can video be a tool to enhance Bonner Leadership and Development? We are excited to see the creative ways in which campuses use video for reflection and training. Ideas for this: a video outlining how to plan a campus community service day or a video training college students about effective ways to teach 4th graders about Martin Luther King Jr.
The possibilities for this video category are endless, but when creating these videos, please keep in mind the following:
Campus: Middlesex County College
Campus: Macalester College Video Description: Award-winning photographer Wing Young Huie's work reflects the complex socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural realities of American society. Wing Young Huie shared his photos with Civic Engagement Center program participants and engaged the group in discussion and reflection on the photographs from his various bodies of work in Minnesota and beyond—Frogtown, Lake Street USA, Schalemar Flying Horse, and the recent 9 Months in America: An Ethnocentric Tour. His commentary and conversation raised poignant questions for reflection on the intersections of Art and Activism.
Video Description: Day at the Capitol is an annual event where MN private college students, staff, and faculty meet with State Legislators to educate on the value of the MN State Grant Program. Sue Xiong is the College Access Issue Based Organzer in the Civic Engagment Center. She works with Macalester's college relations department to organize the event for Macalester. This is her orientation video for Mac participants in Day at the Capitol.
Campus: Davidson College Video Description: The first video features very short clips of the Presentations of Learning from the Bonner Class of 2009. The second video shows the planning and implementation of the First Year Trip to Atlanta, GA over Spring Break.
Campus: Rhodes College Video Description: From annual group retreats to weekly class meetings, frequent training and enrichment opportunities play a huge role in the development of both individual Bonner Scholars and the group as well as in the success of our service projects and commitments. This video features the Rhodes Bonner Class of 2012, highlighting training, enrichment, and Bonner Lovin' at Rhodes College.
Campus: Wofford College Video Description: Wofford College's Bonner Class of 2011 describes training and enrichment activities that they participate in, including two conferences that Wofford sends Bonner Scholars to every year.
Campus: Union College Video Description: The students of Union College give two meetings on the summer of service.
Campus: Lindsey Wilson College Description: Lindsey Wilson College's Bonner Program showcases a variety of campus Training and Enrichment Porgrams such as the Language Festival.
Campus: Bluefield College
Video Description: The Bonners at Bluefield College have created a documentary based on how to successfully create a campus-wide service day. Check out Earth Day 2009!
Campus: Concord University
Video Description: Concord University students partcipated in an alternative spring break trip to Nashville, TN.
Campus: Concord University Video Description: Concord University students participated in the Student Homeless Challenge Project sponsored by the National Coalition for the Homeless in Washington, D.C. in April 2009. This video features how the views of students changed towards people experiencing homelessness and their new realization.
Campus: Ripon College Description: Spring Break service trip to Kentucky in March 2009. One week with Habitat for Humanity in Georgetown, Kentucky in March 2009. Also visited Berea College and Lexington.
Campus: Mars Hill College Student Leadership, Training, and Enrichment: today you get to see Student Leadership by watching some clips of Mars Hill's JR Bonner Class meeting, the week this was shot it was a student led meeting. Also watch Leadership and Enrichment combine as MHC Bonner students volunteer and lead the Empty Bowl's Dinner!
Campus: Maryville College Description: With tensions high before the election, MC Bonners ask faculty, staff, and students what their hopes are for the future.
