Bonner Program Campus Profile Video

This video is your campus’ opportunity to share the great work you do, to educate others about the significance of your work, and to give others the opportunity to get involved in service.  Remember, this video is a tool for your program: use it for recruitment of new Bonners or to explain your mission to potential Community Partners.

This video should clearly communicate what your program does, some important things about the community or campus context in which you work, and who your work impacts.  It should be designed for an audience as varied as your university’s president to a parent of a future Bonner student.  Be creative in this process, but please always keep in mind the following things:

  1. Does this movie effectively communicate its purpose to its intended audience?

  2. Is this movie well-thought out and within the time constraints of 3:00 minutes?

  3. Do you enjoy watching this movie?  Is it fun, clever, artistic?

  4. What concrete information does your movie convey?  When someone is done watching it, will they know the name of your college and town, the issues your service work addresses, and why it matters to you?  Remember, your video will later be on YouTube or other websites and seen by people who are not familiar with your Bonner Program?

A few other special things to think about:

  1. Using captions - a great way to let the viewers know more details (who is speaking, where are they from, what's the location)
  2. Using captions with narration - even better, especially since we want to be inclusive of all people (regardless of age, background, and abilities)

CSB/SJU Bonner Orientation took place January 23-24, 2009. It was the first time the first 9 Bonners were together. At the Bonner Orientation, the Bonners met with five community partners from the St. Cloud area, discussed Bonner (what it is, who we are), completed a service project with residents of Arlington Place, and set two-year goals for the CSB/SJU Bonner Program.

The Bonners look forward to creating civic engagement in the community. What a delightful sight: Nine young minds out to create awareness, spread diversity, and promote change.

This is a video inspired by the "What is Title of Show" video. It's for our Service-Learning Program. We wanted to share it because half of our Bonners are involved with Service-Learning. Enjoy!

Here is a short 'commercial' we made that we will send a link to all of the students at our school for our upcoming Bonner event to get our name out. At our event, we will have free entertainment (two on-campus student performances), free BINGO (Bonner BINGO made by Lindsey Cermak), free root beer floats, and free prizes. We received money for our school senate to put this event together to spread the blove! :)
