What Funds are Available to Bonner Scholars?


Summer Service | Community Fund | Bonner Student Congress Travel Fund | Loan Reduction

 

Summer Service

Scholars must complete two 280-hour (seven week) summer internships. Scholars also may serve an optional third summer and may apply for additional funding.

  • Earnings stipend of up to $1,500 per summer
  • Living allowance of up to $2,000 across both summers
  • Additional $500 available for optional 3rd summer of service

 

Community Fund

Scholars may apply for the fund through a program-specific application and peer review process to secure funding for community service or site-specific projects involving or initiated by Bonners.

  • What's available: $100 per Bonner Scholar ($50 per semester) in a Bonner Community Fund

 

Bonner Student Congress Travel Fund

Scholars who are chosen to attend Congress are eligible to request funds for supporting transportation costs.

  • Up to $250 per trip per Bonner Congress Representative with a maximum of $500

 

Loan Reduction

If scholars complete all service requirements (including two summers of service) and meet all other program expectations, they are eligible for a loan reduction.

  • Up to $2,000 will be allocated to reduce each Bonner Scholar's total educational loan indebtedness at the time of graduation
