Internship Position


Internship Description: Multiple positions,

 

Intern - Communications Department (1 internship)

 

Write feature stories for the APB and news articles for the Americaís Promise website.

Conduct web research to identify conferences, trainings and funding opportunities to feature in the APB, as needed.

Develop great ideas that highlight the innovative programs of 100 Best Communities and Alliance partners to be included in the online Great Ideas Database.

Assist with cataloguing video archives.

Provide support for other initiatives in the Communications and Marketing division, as needed.

 

Intern - Alliance Partnerships (4 internships)

 

Under moderate supervision from the Sr. Director of Alliance Partnerships, this intern will contribute to the development and support of key Alliance initiatives including the 100 Best Communities for Young People and Regional Best Practices Forums, as well as the Katrinaís Kids Initiative. The intern will be responsible for conducting web research, providing support during outreach and promotion through the development and sending of materials, and helping assembly project materials as needed. The intern will provide support for other projects in the Alliance Partnerships division, as needed.

 

Intern - Resource Development (1 internship)

 

Position will be working on various assignments within the Resource Development (Fundraising) Department. Such as working on fundraising database, writing letters to prospective donors, working on upcoming events, etc. Position requires a person that doesn't mind doing something different every day. Need to be flexible to work on varied tasks. Because of the nature of this department, there is a lot of administrative tasks such as compiling donor packets, sending letters, etc. It is a great opportunity for someone interested in philanthropy. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have prior experience working with a database software.

 

Intern - Government and Community Relations (1 internship)

 

Project would include assisting in the development of a national summit focusing on state-level collaboration and best practices, and other project materials as needed. Experience with event planning, writing summary reports and working with public officials preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required (Outlook, Word, Excel).

 

About Compensation:

 

Our internships are usually not compensated; however, a bi-monthly stipend for the internship will be considered based on student financial need; background/experience; hours worked per week; and duration of internship.

 

America's Promise is willing to assist student in obtaining college credit (if offered) for work experience.
