Administrative Assistant & Processing Coordinator (2 positions)

 

ABOUT THE BONNER PROGRAM

 

The Bonner Program is a campus-based community service and service-based scholarship program currently at eighty colleges and universities nationwide. A program of a private philanthropy called the Bonner Foundation, in partnership with The College of New Jersey, the Bonner Program provides more than 3,000 undergraduate students with an opportunity to engage in community service while in college, and to receive financial support for tuition, in the form of scholarships, Federal Work Study stipends, and AmeriCorps Education Awards. The campus-based program provides colleges with a replicable model through which to develop students through service, positively impact communities, and build an infrastructure for sustained campus-community partnerships. Through providing students with an access to education and an opportunity to serve, the Bonner Program also provides a higher education model that promotes colleges’ commitment to civic engagement, community building, diversity, international perspective, spiritual exploration, and social justice.

 

POSITION 1 – ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/ENROLLMENT COORDINATOR

 

Students who have served in AmeriCorps or who are interested in grant management should consider

this opportunity.

 

Coordinator(s) will work with the National Bonner AmeriCorps Enrollment Managers based at the Foundation to ensure the successful enrollment of new AmeriCorps Members serving

at more than 70 college and university campuses nationwide. This position entails processing enrollment and exit documents as well as Members’ hours log reports that are received at the Foundation. Coordinators create files and ensure that enrollment documentation meets government standards, review and approve monthly reports of service hours in an online system and help ensure timely compliance with the certification process for AmeriCorps Education Awards. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to efficiently manage one’s time and perform effectively as an administrator. The position requires that the coordinator be consistently available to work at least 5-10 hours per week.

 

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Significant experience and comfort with operational, logistical, and administrative support work

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to cross check information

  • Willingness to perform data entry, office tasks and other support work

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to work with a team

  • Ability to manage (or learn) fiscal reporting and management, including tracking of expenses and compliance

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time

  • Computer proficiency with MAC OS or equivalent including spreadsheet programs, email and Internet usage,

  • Willingness to learn customized web-based reporting software
